I'm Tom, and I live in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Throughout my life, beyond my long career working in public education, I’ve been driven by three main creative passions: music, writing, and photography. These days, songwriting—especially on my guitar—has taken center stage.
I’ve been playing guitar since my teens and have also dabbled in banjo, ukulele, mandolin, and dobro. But the guitar has always been my true home. Back in my 20s and 30s, I composed instrumental pieces for 6- and 12-string guitar in the style of artists like John Fahey, William Ackerman and Leo Kottke. During the past few years, my love for composing music on guitar has resurfaced, this time with lyrics. Sharing my songs has become one of my greatest joys. Alongside music, I continue to write poetry and prose, and I head out with my camera whenever I can to capture the world through my lens.
On this site, you’ll find pieces of these passions—songs, poems, and photographs. Feel free to explore, and if something resonates with you or sparks a question, I’d love to hear from you. Just visit the Contact page to drop me a message. I'm not here to sell anything—just to share the things I love.
